Bob Marley, we all know his story of being a politically driven, ganja smoking Rastafarian who just happens to be an iconic musician.
But, did you know his name is actually “Robert” and was raised Catholic? He didn’t convert Rasta until the 60’s.
He’s one of the world’s top selling artist of all time, he sold 75 million records. Did these numbers in an era where you had to get off your ass and go to a music store (I miss those days).
“Could You Be Loved” & “Jamming” are my joints!!!
Marley died of Cancer in 81’, man F**k Cancer!!!!
This man had so many quotable’s but none more dope than this one;
“If she’s amazing, she won’t be easy. If she’s easy she won’t be amazing. If she’s worth it you won’t give up, and if you give up you’re not worthy. Truth is, everybody is going to hurt you. You just gotta find the one’s worth suffering for”
Let that marinate!!!!
Happy 70th Birthday Mr. Marley, you were a gift to this world.
This EP is still super dope! The drum pattern on “Nameless” and Fauntleroy’s pen is soooooo dope… Then “Anywhere” reminds me of that feel good 90’s groove. And, then there’s “Nothing” that joint is just so swanky. I could go on and on but I won’t.
