Rapper turned DJ, iLLaNOise aka Jay iLLa has grown up in the Chicago underground scene…. He tried to every facet of hip hop, couldn’t draw so graff was out of the picture, b boy’d a little bit, but that quickly came to a hault, he was nice on the mic, but gave it up for the decks! Although, you can still here him spit a verse or 2 from time to time. Influenced by the legendary Kid Capri dating back to 1993 when he first heard him on Def Comedy Jam, and by Chicago legend The Twilite Tone – Jay finally had the opportunity to learn from DJ Shaun T, who later introduced him to Twilite in 96′.

iLLaNOise finally got serious about spinning in 01′, and honed his skill at K’s Music that was located on 47th Lake Park at the time. Started his following at UIC Chicago Circle Campus dorm room suite house parties, and discovered by Shayne Evans of Newbirth USA at a greek basketball tourny, iLLa rapidly climbed the ladder to Chicago’s elite. iLLaNOise has had the opportunity to spin with and forlegends and icons including but not limited to Kanye West and Jazzy Jeff.
